Bait & Switch, Anna Conathan’s one-person show, unfurls the circuitous story of how she traded her life as a protagonist in Hollywood for a supporting role as a deckhand on a Maine lobster boat. Drawing from her background in acting, stand-up comedy, and screenwriting, Conathan reels us into her tale of escaping the trap of hollow success and finding her most authentic self elbow deep in bait fish and live lobsters. In weaving together the divergent strands of her life — Hollywood, motherhood, a misdiagnosed mystery illness, and a nagging desire to get on the water — Conathan finds a life in Maine that’s a “keeper.”
