Everybody get in line: Maine’s hometown holler-folk heroes announce a pair of pop-up performances and a new brew to wash It all down

Three weeks out from a pair of highly anticipated reunion shows, Maine’s hometown heroes, The Ghost of Paul Revere, have announced two secret pop-up shows. The band will take the stage at small rooms in Biddeford and Buxton. If that wasn't surprising enough, they're releasing a limited-edition lager from Allagash Brewing to commemorate the holler-folk band’s heralded homecoming.
Tonight, Friday, Aug. 14, they’ll roll into Skip’s Lounge in Buxton. Tomorrow, on Saturday, Aug. 15, they’ll be playing at Sacred Profane in Biddeford. Both rooms are intimate — a far cry from the 6,500 people who packed Thompson’s Point in Portland for the final edition of their self-produced Ghostland Festival back in 2022.
There’s capacity for 250 in the back room at Skip’s, and Sacred Profane will admit 100. Tickets to both shows are $10 at the door on a first-come, first-served basis. There are no advance ticket sales.
Both of the rooms have special significance for the band, lead singer Griffin William Sherry told Maine Coast Life.
“Skip’s is our hometown bar,” Sherry said, “and now it’s owned by a high-school classmate, and the Sacred Profane crew have been supporters of mine since Ghost, and they’re someone local who we wanted to express our love for.”
The Ghost of Paul Revere hasn’t played a show in nearly five years now, but the band has two sold-out concerts coming up in Portland — at Live at Madrid's on Sept. 4 and at Thompson's Point on Sept. 6. They've been putting in long hours at the rehearsal studio to get ready for the homecoming gigs, Sherry said. But working out in the rehearsal room and playing live in front of an audience are two very different things, and the pop-up shows will give the band an opportunity to knock some of the rust off.
“We want to get everyone together in front of an audience before the September shows and thought this would be a fun way to do it,” he said.
The band also unveiled Ghostland Lager, developed in collaboration with Maine’s Allagash Brewing Company.
The band will launch the beer at a special party at Allagash on Saturday, Sept. 5., at the brewery’s Portland tap room at 50 Industrial Way, where you can taste the new brew and get four packs to go. The band won’t be playing, but members will be on hand from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. to unveil the new 2026 Ghostland merch and do some signings.
The Ghost of Paul Revere plays Friday, Aug. 14, at Skip’s Lounge in Buxton and Sat., Aug. 15, at Sacred Profane in Biddeford. Tickets are $10 at the door; no advance sales. 21+
